Article Abstract
Peripheral neuropathy has been reported as a side effect of interferon alpha, but not with interferon beta (IFN) treatment. The authors assessed six patients with multiple sclerosis who developed polyneuropathy, or had exacerbation of previously subclinical neuropathy, during treatment with IFN. In five patients the neuropathy improved after discontinuation of treatment and in two patients it relapsed upon rechallenge.
